To make these starfish earrings, you’ll need two different sizes of seed beads, fireline, and hoop earrings. They’re super fun to make and look wonderful! You could also use any leftover beads to create a cute matching pendant.

Let’s go!

Cut a piece of wire about 70 cm long and string five size 8/0 beads onto it. Then connect the ends with a secure double knot.

Thread one size 11/0 bead at a time. These beads will be placed between the green beads. Do this by threading a gold bead through each one and then through the next green bead. This will create a circular pattern.

The wire comes from a gold bead. Next, thread two orange size 8/0 beads and then pass them through the next gold bead. The orange beads will now sit diagonally between two gold 11/0 beads. Repeat these steps until you’ve completed the loop.

Thread two pink size 8/0 beads and thread them through the next orange bead. When you tighten the thread, these beads will also be angled. You’ll now end up at the bottom of the orange bead. Next, thread through the gold size 11/0 bead and then through the adjacent orange size 8/0 bead to thread the next two pink beads.

You repeat these steps until you have come all the way around again.

This is essentially a repeat of the previous round, but instead of threading through the gold bead, you’ll thread from the orange bead through the next orange bead. Below is a picture to make it a bit clearer.

Each round, thread the string through the entire star leg. This also provides extra stability while wearing.

This step is similar to the previous one, but now we’ll switch to size 11/0 to form the star tip. With each round, you’ll thread back through more and more beads. You’ll still be threading through the orange 8/0 bead to the next star leg. This might be a little more difficult because you’ve already threaded through it several times.

In the final round, we’ll string not two, but three 11/0 beads. String an orange bead, followed by a gold bead, and then another orange bead. Then, thread down through the entire leg until you come out of the 8/0 orange bead. Now one leg is complete! Repeat these steps until you’ve come all the way around. At the last leg, make sure you end up at the tip (gold bead). You can do this by threading back up through the two pink beads. You don’t necessarily have to thread through the entire leg again to end up at the tip.

Now we’re going to turn the star into a pendant by adding a loop. Thread seven size 11/0 gold beads onto the wire and then thread them through the tip of the star. This will create a circle so you can hang it from an earring. Thread it back through the leg so you can tie a secure double knot between the two orange 8/0 beads, and then cut the wire.

To attach the star to the earring, first remove the crown. Then slide the star over the hoop. Now your earring is all set!

Now you can make these earrings in every color you like!
