It’s time for festive jewelry again, and these beautiful star earrings radiate a festive atmosphere.
The technique for these earrings is quite simple; you just need to figure out how to string the super duos.
But then you’ll have a pair of beautiful earrings. You could go for fun, shiny Christmas/party colors. But if you make this design in other colors, you can easily wear the earrings even after the holidays.
Needed supplies:
- Superduos
- Seed beads 11/0
- Czech facet 4mm
- Fireline wire
- Needle
- Earhooks
Instructions:
Starting with about 50cm of fireline, string 5 superduos and 5 seed beads alternately onto the fireline. Tie the ends together to create a circle. Make sure you leave about 10cm at the beginning for rethreading and finishing later. Make sure the thread is pulled tight so the earring stays nice and tight. Now thread the thread through the nearest superduo into the top hole. If you want to make the purple-green DIY set shown in the photo below, this one has 6 points. So, start with 6 superduos and 6 seed beads. All subsequent steps are the same.

Make 2 superduos and thread the wire through the top hole of the next superduo. Now string two more superduos to complete the circle.

Now thread the wire back into the next superduo in the top hole. Now string one superduo and thread the wire into the next superduo. Now string three seed beads and go through the next superduo.

Complete the entire circle in this way by stringing one superduo and three seed beads. Then string it through the bottom of the next superduo and the top of the adjacent superduo, then also string it through the first of the three seed beads. Now string three seed beads and thread the thread back through the third seed bead, forming a neat point.

Now complete the circle again until you reach the last 3 seed beads. This time, instead of 3, you’ll string 2 seed beads, followed by a faceted bead and 5 seed beads.

Now thread the thread back through the faceted bead and the first seed bead, and then string another seed bead. Thread the thread through the third seed bead. You can now conceal the threads on both sides by threading them through different beads again. I always like to tie a small knot somewhere, just to be safe.

Finally, add a dangle earring.
Now your beautiful star earring is finished! If you’re feeling creative, you can also string a bracelet with the remaining superduos and seed beads. Have fun creating!
